The new Quality System – Matcher ™

Gynera Introduces New Quality System - Matcher ™

Introduction
At GYNERA Clinic we want to make sure that everything involved in your treatment is identified with precision and maximum safety.
This involves labeling the products used with your full name, date of birth and your unique identification code.

Witness verification
To ensure rigor, GYNERA uses a double check and witness confirmation system for all stages involved in treatment. It includes:

  • Identification of the patient during oocyte collection, embryo transfer, intrauterine insemination
  • Sperm bottle labeling
  • Union of sperm with oocytes
  • Daily movement of embryos between plates with culture media
  • Labeling of containers used for cryopreservation of embryos and sperm and all other important procedures.

What is Matcher?
Matcher is an advanced computer verification system, recently implemented at GYNERA and the first of its kind in Romania, which ensures
the highest standard of patient safety. The system combines sophisticated labeling, barcode coding and scanning technology to provide photographic evidence that all procedures involved in the treatment cycle are correctly identified and combined.
In other words, all products used during treatment (vials, plates, tubes, needles, culture media, catheters) are labeled, scanned, recorded in the system and compared with the patient identification code. The system alerts immediately, in case of improper identification or coupling.

Will you notice any difference in treatment?
At the beginning of the treatment you will receive a “Patient ID security card” (the size of a credit card). The photos and barcode of this card will be used to identify you when you come to the clinic. They will also be used for a double check of sperm or embryos, when they are transferred back to you, during the insemination or transfer of embryos to the uterus.

How is Matcher used in the laboratory?
Even if you cannot see the procedures for identifying and coupling samples in the laboratory, you can still be sure that all the procedures performed in
The course of your treatment will be scanned and kept in your medical record.

Are there any risks?
No one. Matcher is a passive system, which means that it does not interfere in any way with the treatment cycle.
