Dr. Laura Dracea is the Medical Director of the Gynera Clinic.

She graduated from the University of Medicine in 1992 and specialized in obstetrics and gynecology. After several internships in in vitro fertilization in clinics in the US, France and Israel, she contributed to the establishment of the Department of Assisted Human Reproduction of the Clinical Hospital “Panait Sarbu” in Bucharest, where she was the first doctor to perform fertilization procedures in in vitro in 1999. Since then, she coordinated for 10 years the activity of this department, which became the largest assisted reproduction center in the country and helped hundreds of couples to become parents with the help of in vitro fertilization.

As a lecturer at the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, she trained many generations of students and specialists and was part of the examination commissions for years to grant assisted reproduction competence to doctors who specialized in infertility treatment.

Along with her work in the field of IVF, Dr. Dracea has accumulated many years of clinical experience in the field of obstetrics and gynecological surgery. Since 1995 she has been a pioneer in minimally invasive gynecological surgery, performing over 1000 laparoscopic and hysteroscopic interventions, reflected in her doctoral thesis in 2003.

In 2007 Dr. Laura Dracea brought together a group of experienced professionals to form a successful team at the Gynera Clinic. She introduced new techniques and obtained remarkable results with technologies used for the first time in Romania. Dr. Dracea is an active member of ASRM (American Society of Reproductive Medicine) and ESHRE (European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology) and a founding member of SRFRA (Romanian Society of Fertility and Assisted Reproduction). She has published specialized books, chapters and papers. She has participated in national and international professional meetings, working groups for the elaboration of legislation, shows and events. Prestigious publications such as “Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare” and “Encyclopedia of Romanian Personalities” have included her biography in recent editions, and IBS in Cambridge, UK recognized her professional merits by designating her “International Health Professional of the Year 2010” .
